Martin children celebrate birthdays

David, DJ and Jack Martin were honored at birthday celebrations given by their parents, David and Joy Martin of Tignall.

David, whose 13th birthday was December 29, celebrated with the youth group at Tignall Baptist Church when they spent the weekend skiing at Sugar Mountain in North Carolina. A good time of fellowship was enjoyed by all in the group.

DJ (Doris Jean) was nine on January 29 and was treated to a bowling party in Athens. She and her friend, Leslie Souther, had a joint birthday party with all the trimmings. A number of friends celebrated with them and lip gloss and nail polish were given as party favors.

Jack was 11 years old on Wednesday, February 14, and celebrated with his friends after wrestling practice. Cake and ice cream were served. Special friends, Bobby Reville and Chandler Pharr, enjoyed crab legs with Jack at Soap Creek in Lincolnton. Kites were given out as favors.

David, Jack and D J. are the grandchildren of Doris Martin and the late Benjamin Martin of Evans and the late Tabor and Jean Jackson of Tignall.
