Mary Wright Blue honored at Luncheon in the Country

Mary Wright Latimer Blue
Mary Wright Latimer Blue was honored on the occasion of her 102nd birthday at a "Luncheon in the Country" on Thursday, February 15. Cabin Hill, home of the hostess, Avola W. Callaway, was the setting for the delightful event attended by ten dear friends.

Mrs. Blue and her guests enjoyed the warmth of the fellowship of friends as well as the lighted fireplaces amid beautiful arrangements of camellias, forsythia and daffodils throughout.

The luncheon table featured a lovely arrangement of yellow and red tulips, yellow gold lilies, Alstroemeria lilies and ranunculus.

The luncheon course featured Tennessee favorites of Mrs. Callaway's mother. Delicious hot tomato consommé with cheese straws was enjoyed as the appetizer and the luncheon continued with fresh fruit salad with Mrs. Whitesells' delicious homemade dressing. Another tearoom favorite, "Miss Daisy's" eggbread and cream chicken, was served with delicious vegetables and the luncheon was complete with fresh coconut cake and coffee.

Lovely cards with birthday wishes were presented to Mrs. Blue.
