Christopher Lane promoted to rank of Major in Army infantry
LTC Christopher McCurry briefed the audience of family members and peers on the accomplishments of Captain Lane. The candidate for Major includes two company commanding positions; a 2003 deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan; and graduation in a Master's program through the University of Phoenix. Major Lane received his promotion with the pinning of the Major's Oak Leaf ranking to his Class A uniform. Major Lane's father, LTC Robert Lane (retired), and Donna Joseph, both of Detroit, Michigan; and his brother, CPT John Lane from Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, attended the special ceremony. Following the program, guests enjoyed a generous spread of refreshments with various cheeses, red and white grapes, crackers, sandwich ring, colorful vegetables and cookies. A cake with a replica of the U.S. Army Seal, and the words, "Congratulations Major Lane" was presented at the reception. Major Lane was accompanied to the ceremony and reception by his wife, Bridgit Price Lane, daughter of Danny and Tammy Price of Washington-Wilkes; and their son, William Cobey Lane.
Major Lane has been an officer of the United States Army for 15 years. He is expected to deploy in the spring of this year to Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
