Two injured in hit and run
A mother and her 9-year-old son were injured in an incident Monday on Alabama Street. Washington Police say driver Aushenita L. Turner was arrested and charged with cruelty to children and with leaving the scene of an accident with injury. An argument between Turner and victim Kimberly Booker resulted in Booker and her son, Xavian Banks, being dragged from Turner's car. The mother and child were treated for abrasions and released from Wills Memorial Hospital, according to the police report.The case is still under investigation.
