Pvt. Acree visits sister's class before returning to Iraq duty
Acree presented the class with a very special United States flag that had flown during a combat mission over the city of Baghdad, Iraq. The certificate which accompanied the flag read: "Be it known to all who view this. This flag was proudly flown on the 27th day of January, 2007, for 3.3 hours by Crazy Horse 23, 1-227th Aviation Regiment (Attack/ Reconnaissance), 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, on a combat mission over Baghdad, Iraq for Washington-Wilkes Middle School. This flag was flown in the face of the enemy as a token of appreciation from Knightrider 06 for your outstanding support of Private Second Class Demitruius Acree." The class presented Acree with a Washington-Wilkes Middle School polo shirt.
Acree returned to Iraq on February 20 after a two week leave. He is the son of Lynn Acree and the grandson of Lois and Raleigh Turner. His sister, Chelsea Burse, is a member of the class. Prvt. 2nd Class Acree is a 2001 graduate of Washington- Wilkes Comprehensive High School.
