The Week of Prayer for North American Missions will be March 4- 11 and the Easter Annie Armstrong Special Offering for Home missions will also be held. On Tuesday night, March 6, there will be an Associational Annie Armstrong Missions Banquet held with Double Branches Baptist Church in Lincoln County. It is a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. ..There are 12 from our Georgia Baptist Association planning to go on a mission trip to Matamores, Mexico, March 8-18, to work with Interna- tional Mission Board missionaries, Jack and Sherri Thomas, and a church in Matamores. This is known as Operation Go Mexico. ..Saturday morning, March 24, there will be a Vacation Bible School Directors Clinic held at the Georgia Baptist Association Mission Center at 10 a.m. The following week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, at 7 p.m., Vacation Bible School clinics will be offered to all workers. Please pray about your part. ..Sincere sympathy is extended to all who have lost loved ones recently. There have been quite a few. Many who have brought back fond memories, one being John Burdette Smith, a very kind-hearted person and his wife, Christine Vaughn Smith, who worked with many of us at the "Old Almar" many years ago. Speaking of John being a welder, every time we get mail out of our mailbox for around 50 years or more, we are reminded that he took an old hayrake wheel and made a nice two-box stand and a flock of cement for it to stand in.
..Mrs. Dan McAvoy appreciated her pretty birthday cards last week, especially the one from out of state with a family photo. Among their visitors were Peggy McAvoy Vandiver, Henry McAvoy, Morrison and Priscilla Maxwell and their grandson, Tyler Scarborough, Jimmy and Dorothy Ann Saxon, Claudia McAvoy. Dorothy Ann and Claudia carried Mrs. McAvoy to her doctor in Augusta one day. ..Remember, God loves you.
