Harold Jasper Johnson Funeral services for Harold Jasper Johnson, 83, were held Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Loco Baptist Church in Lincoln County with Rev. Aaron Aycox and Rev. Cullen Hicks officiating. Interment was in the Washington Chapel Cemetery. He died February 23. Mr. Johnson was a native of Oglethorpe County and had lived in Wilkes County for over 50 years. He was the son of the late Newton Jasper Johnson and Mattie Lee Brown Johnson, and was the widower of Ethel Davis Johnson. He was a barber by trade but also had a great love for gardening. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Johnson, Washington; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Annette Johnson, Lincolnton, Allen and Linda Johnson, Lincolnton, James and Linda Johnson, Washington, and Jasper Johnson, Washington; a brother, Homer Johnson, Greensburg, Penn.; a sister, Vonzeal Cook, Greensburg, Penn.; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers included Danny Byrd, Ronnie Smith, Jimmy Smith, Curtis Hall, Ronald Paschal, and Lewis Hall. Bobby Rachels and Bill Mobley served as honorary pallbearers.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
