Ashley Branan honored at family luncheon in Athens

Ashley Branan, bride-elect of Brad Sheffield of Athens, was honored with a Branan family luncheon in Athens on Saturday, January 24.

The seated luncheon was given by her cousins, Mrs. Charles Bell of Atlanta, Mrs. Betty Gann of Athens, and Mrs. Phil Sheffield of Bogart, in the Executive Dining Room of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

The ladies of the Branan family and close friends were invited to the luncheon. Special guests included the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. W. C. Branan of Washington; grandmother, Mrs. Leonard Cobb of Athens; and aunt, Mrs. Tom Ellerbee of Watkinsville; also Mrs. Bobby Williamson of Martinez; and Mrs. Dan Branan and Trinity of Kennesaw.

For the occasion Miss Branan was lovely in a pants ensemble that included cream pants, pink knit top and a brown, cream and pink floral tapestry jacket. She was presented a corsage of cream roses as were her mother and grandmother.

Tables for the luncheon were covered with floor-length white linen cloths and centered with cream roses arranged in crystal baskets that were wedding gifts of the bride-elect's great-aunt, Mrs. C. N. Branan of Lexington. A salad luncheon was served on beautiful appointments of bone china. Key Lime Tarts were served for dessert.

At the close of the occasion, the hostesses presented Miss Branan an engraved silver tray and she presented her hostesses travel coffee mugs and banana bread.
