Mr. and Mrs. John Shelton Jr. of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Elaine (Katie), to Isaiah Tucker Hardy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Len Hardy of Washington.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Fain of Tignall and Mr. and Mrs. John Shelton of Washington.

She is a 2004 honor graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and is presently attending Augusta State University in Augusta where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History.

Mr. Hardy is the grandson of Mrs. Lois Hardy and the late Irvin Hardy, the late Nelson Harper and the late Maddie Harper of Washington.

He is also a 2004 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and attended Augusta Tech in Augusta. Mr. Hardy is pursing a career in the poultry business as owner of Tucker Hardy Farms in Washington-Wilkes.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 16, at 4 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Washington.
