Tignall Baptist hosts Sweetheart Banquet Saturday The Sweetheart Banquet at the Tignall Baptist Church Saturday night in the Family Life Center was enjoyed by 59 people who were served a delicious steak dinner. The room was beautifully decorated including candles and rose petals. The youth of the church were the waiters and waitresses and some kept the nursery where there were 15 children to take care of. The waitress receiving the most tips was Lauren Harrison. Gracen Ware and Josh McTier tied for second in receiving the most tips. Carol McTier stated that this was a wide age span between members of the church and this was a wonderful time of interaction between the youth and the older members of the church. After the meal, Angie Gilland had planned well with some fun games. The first game was guessing the number of Valentine hearts in a bowl. Wouldn't you know, Dean Ware won.
There was a couple relay where each couple had to take candy hearts to a vicinity and back using chopsticks. The favorite game of all was the Not So Newly Wed Game with the following couples involved: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huyck, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Maney, Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Bobo, Mr. and Mrs. Dave VanHart, and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Saggus. One could tell everyone was enjoying themselves from hearing all the laughter.
