Post 17 Troopers issue 120 tickets during February

State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 13 traffic crashes during the month of February in Wilkes County.

Sergeant First Class Derrick Durden said the traffic crashes resulted in 10 injuries. There were no fatalities.

SFC Durden said troopers from Post 17 also issued 120 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes five arrests for driving under the influence; 64 citations for speeding; eight seat belt violations; and five child restraint violations.

Troopers also issued 172 warnings.
