March came in like a lion with storms, rain and winds. Many in our community are still sick with flu, viruses, and other illnesses. Please keep all the sick and bereaved in your thoughts and prayers. ..Sardis Baptist Church enjoyed having Barry McAvoy of Danburg bring the message Sunday morning. His wife Barbara and their daughter accompanied him. Pam Hall was pianist with Monica Gunter as music director. Courtney Gunter held children's church in the annex. Rebekah Echols was in charge of the nursery. Prayer meeting will be held at the Echols Home Wednesday evening at 6:30. ..The prayer list includes Stephanie Chapman, Fred Scoggins, Sudie Kennedy, Richard Burkett, Bill Remsen, Betsy Wynne, Brent Sherrer, Marshall Sherrer, Mablean Sherrer, Alex Walker, Katie Canup Glowka, Kim Abrams, Debra Cato, Leonard Fain, Carla Thaxton Brown, Mamie Ruth Cason, Pat Wynne, Roberta Roper, Ellie Frey, Thelma Favor, Mario's baby (Christina), Pete Hardy, Pete Poss, Gary Rogers, Tommy Wheatley, Thomas Wheatley, Thomas Bunch, Ralph Smith, Dorothy Calla- way, and Kathryn Padgett. ..Shirley Chafin and son, Ronnie Chafin, share the same birthday on February 10. Shirley was treated out several times. Ronnie and Racquel treated her and Troy out at Outback in Athens. Ken and Sheila Arnold treated her at Rafferty's and she was also treated at a Japanese restaurant for a celebration. Terri Chafin Diaz also celebrated a birthday on February 9. ..March birthdays that I know about are Nina Boatwright, March 3; Ava Wright, March 7; Geraldine Dill, March 9; Trey Berry, March 10; George Wideman, March 13; Chris Armour and Maddie Gunter, March 14; Dorothy Callaway, March 16; Carmen Boatwright, March 20; and Mil Shedd, March 30. ..Nina Boatwright and Velma Crook were treated to a wonderful birthday dinner Sunday at Ed and Velma's home. Ann Walis and Anita Plue of Augusta cooked the delicious meal. Bill Caldwell joined them for the celebration. ..Ava Wright was treated to her first birthday party Sunday at home with her parents, Paul and Hannah Right. She had a carousel birthday cake and about 40 relatives and friends came to help her celebrate. ..Joel McCree and Bud Kennedy of Union Point visited Sudie Kennedy Thursday. Ann Williamson and Millie Mansfield visited her during the week. ..Spending the weekend with Annie Blanche Vaughn were Tucker and Brenda Vaughn of Martinez. Millie Mansfield visited her one day. ..Melvin and Jane Bailey visited Ruth Flynt Sunday afternoon. ..Ruby Arnold carried her sister, Dorothy Callaway, to the doctor Thursday and she got a good report. .. Greg and Angela Armour, Samantha, Cody and Hunter, Sissy Smith, J.T. and Abby, Richard and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank, spent Sunday with Buck and Linda Echols. ..Ethan and Jackson Armour, Wright Gunter and Brantley Walker participated in the steer show at the McGill- Woodruff Ag Building in Washington Saturday where they showed steers and heifers. ..Tracy and Denise Armour and Justin Armour attended the steer show Saturday at the McGill-Woodruff Ag Center where Ethan and Jackson were participating. .. Danny and Monica Gunter, Courtney, Meredith, and Mattie attended the show at the McGill-Woodruff Ag Center in Washington in which Wright participated. ..Last weekend, Wright, Brantley, Ethan, and Jackson, and most of their family members spent Thursday through Sunday in Perry where the boys were showing steers and heifers. .. Betty Berry went over to Arnoldsville Sunday afternoon to visit Lyn and Rhonda Young. ..George and Mozelle Casey and Frances Fendley enjoyed going to Augusta to visit Myrtice Seymour, Virginia Fong, and Gladys Chafin Sunday. .. James, David, and Mathew Wideman visited George and Ann Wideman over the weekend. Ann visited Gene and Betty Winfrey and Sandy Winfrey during the week. ..Brooke Berry, Kaitlyn and Bryson spent Sunday with Lamar and Kay Berry and Trey. Bonnie Boatwright visited them Sunday afternoon. ..Barry and Dana Echols of Ball Ground spent Sunday at the homeplace here. J.W. Boatwright visited them while they were here. ..Bonnie Boatwright joined James and Kathleen Canup and Margaret Peterman of Lexington Tuesday afternoon for a trip over to Elberton to play bingo at Wendy's.
