We had a wonderful service at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. Newton Gunter was ordained as a deacon. Dr. Leonard Dupree gave the message, the charge to the church, the charge to the candidate, and the ordination prayer. The laying on of hands was by all ministers and deacons and then Dr. Dupree presented the declaration. Bob Marett gave the presentations. The benediction and the prayer for the blessing was given, then the congregation gave Newton the right hand of fellowship. A fellowship meal was held afterwards for all members and visitors who wished to stay. Rev. Albert Huyck was supposed to be on the program, but was in the hospital. We wish him a thorough and speedy recovery. The beautiful flowers were placed by Dr. and Mrs. Dupree. ..Happy birthday to Vicky Linares, March 1; Eula Mobley, March 2; G.B.
