Samantha Jo Thornton to marry Steven Brent Parker on April 14

Mrs. Melody Moore Thornton and Michael Wayne Thornton of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Jo, to Steven Brent Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lanier Parker Jr. of Martinez.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Josephine Gunn Moore of Raytown and Lawrence Allen Thornton and the late Bessie Edmunds Thornton of Washington.

She is a 2006 graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Therapy. Miss Thornton is employed as manager of Fernacres Farm in Washington.

Mr. Parker is the grandson of Cecil Thomas Allgood and the late Catherine Ozella Wynn Allgood of Oxford and the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lanier Parker of Covington.

He is a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Mr. Parker is employed as the Assistant Plant Controller at Pliant Corporation in Washington.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 14, at 6 p.m. at Wisteria Hall in Washington.
