Ashley Branan and Brad Sheffield feted at couple's shower March 3 The cabin of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bridges in Oglethorpe County was the scene of a couple's shower honoring Ashley Branan and Brad Sheffield on Saturday, March 3, at noon. Hosts included Mr. and Mrs. Barry Walker of Lexington, Katie Walker of Macon, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Davis of Watkinsville, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Huff of Dewey Rose, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Hester of Winder, Mr. and Mrs. Walker Whitworth of Toccoa, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Palmer of Thomasville and Molly McDougall of Athens. For the occasion Miss Branan wore black slacks and a red and white cotton blouse tied with a red belt to remember her days at UGA. Miss Branan was presented a corsage of white daisies and Mr. Sheffield, a matching boutonniere. Daisy corsages were also presented to her mother, Mrs. W. C. Branan of Washington, and grandmother, Mrs. Leonard Cobb of Athens Tables were decorated in red and white gingham cloths and centered with tin buckets holding arrangements of yellow chrysanthemums. A lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers and all the trimmings was prepared by the hosts. Completing the menu was a delicious assortment of desserts. The couple was presented a tailgating charcoal grill and assortment of grilling utensils, tools and gardening tools.
Forty-five guests were invited and included college friends and family members of the bride. Special guests were the bride-elect's parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Branan of Washington, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cobb of Athens.
