New Ford Baptist to hear Anderson Sunday morning

The Rev. Paul L. Anderson will be the guest speaker at a special celebration service with family and friends at New Ford Baptist Church this Sunday, March 11, at 2 p.m. Members of his congregation from Baptist Grove Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, will accompany Rev. Anderson and will be New Ford's very special guests.

New Ford is the ancestral home church of Anderson's mother, Sister Veola Cofer Anderson. His grandfather, Charlie Cofer was a deacon at New Ford from 1925 until his death in 1970. His greatgrandparents, Pope and Fannie Standard Cofer were New Ford members as were his great-greatgrandparents, Mose and Sarah Standard. Mose Standard was among the first five trustees who, on behalf of the church, received title to New Ford in or around 1870, when it was conveyed by the previous congregation now known as Danburg Baptist Church.

A graduate of Southern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N. C., Anderson has pastored Baptist Grove for 15 years and has been preaching and teaching since the age of 18. More about Anderson and Baptist Grove Church can be found on their website at www.baptistgrovechurch.org.

The community is invited to worship and celebrate with New Ford Baptist Church on this occasion. The church is located at 425 Bradford Road in the Danburg Community of Wilkes County under the leadership of Pastor James White, Jr.
