Highway 47 to close for railroad repair in Sharon, DOT says

State Route 47 in Taliaferro County will be temporarily closed from State Route 12 in Crawfordville to State Route 47 in Wilkes County for railroad maintenance and repair in Sharon.

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced the closure which will take place on Thursday, March 15, and weather permitting should last for one day.

A signed detour will be in place and advance warning signs and barricades will be located at intersections prior to closure.

As with all road construction, motorists are advised to use extra caution in construction work zones.
