Jr. Beta Club members inducted
The 15 students who were inducted as new members into the Washington Wilkes Junior Beta Club during a special ceremony on March 5, 2007 included (front row, l-r) Emily Treadwell, Paige McAvoy, Lauren Roberts, Amber Anderson (back row) Doug Standard, Jonathan Wood, and Kohen Wolfe. Not present were Carly Cosby, Lauren Chafin, ReBecca Davis, Ramona Lott, Calli Nickels, Ivy Safrit, Courtney Stripling, and Tiare Tatum. The National Junior Beta Club was founded in 1961 for academically outstanding students in grades five through nine. The club is a non-profit leadership-service club whose purpose is to encourage effort and reward merit, and to promote the qualities of character that make for good citizenship.
