Retired educators offer honorarium for college-bound

High school seniors may apply for an honorarium sponsored by the Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA).

To qualify for the award a student must plan to attend a college or a vocational school for the 2007-2008 academic year; and write a 250-500 word essay on the topic, "The Importance of Furthering My Education."

A cover page must be provided including the student's name, date, name of high school, and the name of the college or vocational school that the student plans to attend.

The deadline for the essay to be submitted to the high school counselor is Friday, March 30.
