Girl Scouts to hold self-esteem session for girls and moms

Mothers and their daughters are invited to celebrate their uniqueness at a special "Celebrate You! Self- Esteem Workshop" on Tuesday, March 27, at the Washington-Wilkes Middle School from 6 to 8 p.m.

The workshop is open to all girls in grades five through eight and is sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Northeast Georgia. Registration is open to the first 50 daughters and mothers.

Subjects to be covered include: what influences your sense of beauty, self-worth, and confidence? What roles do messages from media, friends, celebrities, teachers, and others play in how young girls see themselves? Do mothers really have a major impact on their daughters?
