Red Cross assists storm victims

Through Monday, March 12, 2007, the American Red Cross of Augusta had assisted 130 individuals and provided 196 comfort kits and 88 clean-up kits to individuals affected by the recent storms. There have been 2,515 meals and snacks served and the Red Cross has utilized 149 volunteers and disbursed $31,932 in direct assistance.

The American Red Cross of Augusta will also have a Red Cross representative present at the Disaster Assistance Center at the Sweetwater Gym in Thomson through Thursday, March 15, from 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. to provide any additional assistance to individuals affected by the storms.
