I am enjoying the warmer weather. Everyone is as busy as bees working outside in their yards. The flowers have been prettier this year and the tulip trees, redbuds, and forsythia are so pretty. Easter comes early this year. ..Robert (Pee Wee) Armour was guest speaker at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday. He recited some of the wonderful poems that he has written which everyone enjoyed. His wife accompanied him to the service. Monica Gunter led in the singing of beautiful old hymns and Pam Hall was pianist. Denise Armour held children's church in the annex and Joyce Fry was in charge of the nursery. Family night was held Sunday evening with a meal and mission meetings. Prayer meeting will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Echols Home. ..Many in the community attended the 50th wedding anniversary and renewal of wedding vows of Norman and Joann Echols Saturday afternoon at Sardis Baptist Church. .. Peggy Echols visited Sudie Kennedy Monday. ..Bradley Parker was treated to a party Saturday for his fifth birthday at home with his parents, Lee and Shelley Parker. Celebrating with him also were Tristan and Lila, Tom and Sandra Parker, Betty Berry, Sybil Vaughn, Donnie and Kris Berry, Abbi and Jessi, Joshua Parker, Samantha Poss, Heather Armour, Rebecca and Raeleigh, Mike and Amanda Smith and Chase, Kristy White, and James and Sarah Long. ..Grace Ferguson of Washington visited Annie Blanche Vaughn one day and Rev. and Mrs. John Mark Carpenter visited her Saturday afternoon. Malcolm and Jean McDonald of Rome spent the weekend with Annie Blanche. ..Alyssa Stewart spent the weekend at home from Augusta State University with her parents, Tim and Gail Stewart. Paul and Hannah Wright and Ava enjoyed Sunday dinner with them. ..Richard Burkett, Jo Ann Perez and Frances Fendley enjoyed going to a movie in Thomson Saturday. ..Bryson Porter spent Saturday with Kim Berry and Aaliya. They enjoyed visiting Ruby Arnold and had supper with her. .. Mrs. Bobby Armour and Mrs. Frances Fendley went to Quiet Oaks in Crawford Friday and while Debra was at a meeting Frances visited Mrs. Melvie Esco. ..Mary Grace Owen, Randall and Fallen Roberson and Gracie visited Ruby Arnold several days. Ruby and Mary Grace went to Augusta to visit Brandon Berry who had an appendectomy Thursday at MCG. Brandon is at home and doing well. ..Bonnie Boatwright visited Mrs. Kay Berry and Kaitlyn, and Johnny Boatwright Saturday afternoon. .. James, David and Mathew Wideman visited George and Ann Wideman during the weekend. George and Ann visited Mrs. Laura Hester and Mrs. Dot Hardy in Wilkes Health Care in Washington during the week. Ann also visited Emilie Rorie in the Echols Home and Gene and Betty Winfrey. ..Bonnie Boatwright spent Thursday with her sister, Martha Jones, in Bogart. They enjoyed eating at Rafferty's in Athens with James and Sharon Smith of Stephens and Calvin Smith of Winterville. .. Barry and Dana Echols of Ballground spent the weekend here at the homeplace. Parker Echols is also spending a few days while he is on spring break from Valdosta State University.
