Lunch and Learn meets Feb. 24 to elect new officers

The Rayle Lunch and Learn Club met Wednesday, February 24, at the Rayle City Hall.

Fran Thaxton opened the meeting with prayer, scripture from Thessalonians 5:11, and a story, "Encouragement Is a Gift." Peggy Echols, president, led the meeting. She gave the treasurer's report in the absence of Shirley Chafin. Bonnie Boatwright gave the secretary's report.

Election of new officers was held with Peggy Echols as president; Christine Wheatley, vice-president; Betty Berry, treasurer; Bonnie Boatwright, secretary; and Fran Thaxton, chairman of the devotionals.

Discussions and project planning were held. After all business was taken care of the ladies enjoyed a wonderful meal of everyone's favorite recipes.

Present were Peggy Echols, Christine Wheatley, Fran Thaxton, Betty Berry, Mablean Sherrer, Betty Winfrey, Mildred Sisson, Ann Williamson, Millie Mansfield, Doris Smathers, Ruth Flynt, Rethna Lee, and Bonnie Boatwright.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 10 a.m., at the City Hall. Any lady interested in attending is welcome.
