Mr. and Mrs. Charles Foxworth of Morganton, N.C., visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance, during the weekend. ..Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer were among the many friends and relatives at the visitation time for Emmett Winn at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home in Athens Thursday night. James attended the burial service held at the Carlton Cemetery Friday afternoon. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his family. ..While in Athens Friday afternoon James Sherrer visited Mrs. Louise Glenn and Don Glenn. ..We all were so happy to hear that Mrs. Juanita Bradford received a good report from her doctor in Augusta Thursday. ..Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance visited Elizabeth Barber in Athens Sunday afternoon. ..Mr. and Mrs. Philip Huff of Athens visited Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Saturday. We joined them and enjoyed lunch at the Home Cafe. In the afternoon, Philip, Mae Dell, and Samille visited Mrs. Allene Lunsford at Harper's Personal Care Home in Washington. ..Mrs. Cheryle Holsclaw was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Mc- Carty for lunch Sunday. ..Ray Branham, Whitney and Charlie, and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the Kiwanis Club Talent Showcase Friday night. The art contest winners were announced and presented trophies. Whitney Branham was third place winner for her pretty painting of sailboats in grades six through eight. Her family is real proud of her achievement. ..I'd like to wish my best friend, Iris Dyson, happy birthday on Monday, March 26; and also my granddaughter, Ann Branham Caldwell, on the same day. Best wishes to both.
