Sardis Baptist Church enjoyed having Tommy Harwell as guest speaker Sunday morning. Monica Gunter was music director with Pam Hall as pianist as the congregation sang old hymns. Courtney Gunter held children's church in the annex, and Trey Berry was in charge of the nursery. Prayer meeting will be held at the Echols Home Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ..The Sunday School of Sardis Baptist Church honored Maddie Gunter by singing "Happy Birthday" to her Sunday morning. Maddie is five years old. She was treated with a party at "Pump It Up" in Athens by her family, Danny and Monica Gunter, Wright, Courtney and Meredith, Sunday afternoon. Twenty-two guests attended the party. Two of her little friends, Caitlyn and Sydney Harper, who attend the Washington-Wilkes Pre- Kindergarten with her, spent Saturday night with her and attended Sunday School and church with her at Sardis Baptist Church. .. Our prayers are with Mike Woodall (Tommy Harwell's brother-in-law) who suffered a stroke about two weeks ago and is not doing well. ..Prayers are also asked for Bernice McAvoy who is in Wills Memorial Hospital; and also for Pete Poss that he will get a good report as he had tests March 20. They celebrated by having a delicious dinner with ice cream and German chocolate cake. He received many nice gifts. George was 60 on Tuesday, March 13. George and Ann were also treated out at the Pizza Hut by a friend. ..Happy birthday to Judy Winfrey Nicholson on March 28. ..Kay Berry, Brooke Berry, Kaitlyn and Bryson Porter, attended the birthday party for Maddie Gunter in Athens Sunday afternoon. ..Sunday of last week, visitors of Buck and Linda Echols were Sissy Smith, J.T. and Abby, Zack and Kirby Smith, Samantha Armour, and Richard and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank. ..Tim and Allison Hayes and Harley Grace, Clay and Vicky Stevens and Kayla, and Sybil Hayes had Saturday dinner last week with Peggy Echols and family. ..Janet and Ashton Lewis of Athens and Debra Sherrer, Whitney and Lindsay, and Whitney's friend Reese visited Billy and Doris Walker Sunday afternoon. ..J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright visited Johnny Boatwright Sunday afternoon. .. Penny Vaughn visited Sudie Kennedy Sunday afternoon. ..Wilda Boatwright and Sudie Kennedy visited Ralph Smith at the Silver Leaf Home in Athens Friday and report him doing well. ..Julie and Bridgett Berry visited Ruby Arnold Saturday afternoon. ..Rosa Lee Ivy of Comer came over for a visit with Ruby Arnold and Kim Berry Sunday. ..Wilda Boatwright went to Thomson Sunday to visit her sister at Mount Pleasant Assisted Living Home. She is doing well. ..Ann Williamson carried Sudie Kennedy to Athens to the doctor Wednesday where she got a good report. ..Bonnie Boatwright went over to Elberton to play bingo at Wendy's Tuesday afternoon with James and Kathleen Canup and Margaret Peterman of Lexington. ..Bonnie Boatwright spent Wednesday in Bogart with her sister, Martha Jones. They enjoyed eating at Chiles in Athens with James and Sharon Smith of Stephens and Frankie Jones of Athens. .. Ann Wideman visited Emily Rorie at the Echols Home one day.
