Victory Baptist making plans for 'Super Sundays'

Victory Baptist Church on the Newtown Road in Wilkes County will have a special month of Super Sundays during April.

Each Sunday will feature a special speaker for the services which are held at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be special music presented during the week and a special message for those attending the services. A nursery will be provided for small children.

The special Super Sundays will be held on April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, and an invitation is extended by the congregation and the pastor, Jimmy Chapman, to everyone interested to attend any or all of the services.

The first speaker on April 1 will be Dr. S. Milford Biddle, a full-time evangelist from Ringgold. He was saved on September 7, 1947, in a community revival at the Pea Ridge Schoolhouse in DeKalb County, Alabama. He served for 14 years as a deacon and the music director at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rossville.

After entering the gospel ministry in January 1961, Dr. Biddle became the host of the Hour of Worship radio broadcast and the pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Chattanooga where he enjoyed more than 29 years of service.

Dr. Biddle has preached in missions and Bible conferences, revival meetings, and camp meetings all over the eastern United States. He has traveled in 18 foreign countries and received a Doctor of Divinity from the Tabern Baptist Bible College in Greenville, S.C.

He is 82 years old and he and his wife, the late Martha Ozell, were married for 54 years. They have two daughters, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
