'Geology Rocks' presented by 3rd grade at W-WPS

Third graders at Washington- Wilkes Primary School presented a musical play titled "Geology Rocks!" by Ron Fink and Jon Heath at the school on March 6.

The play was a culminating experience for the third grade s c i e n c e study of rocks and minerals.

Third-grader Ethan Yearwood wrote the following summary of the program:

Geology Rocks! is a play about two girls who start to look for their geology teacher. The Ferns have kidnapped him. The girls meet Detectives, Volcanoes, Landforms, Ferns, Snow White, and Rocks. At the end they find Professor Rock (who has been researching geo-thermal energy.)

The Ferns wanted to become fossil fuels. They kidnapped Professor Rock because they were afraid that nobody would use fossil fuels if alternatives (like geo-thermal energy) were used. Professor Rock stumbles on stage. The Ferns apologize for kidnapping him and the Professor hugs his seismograph. The End. Geology Rocks!
