'Writing About Your Life' course offered for Learning in Retirement As its final spring course, the Washington Chapter of Learning in Retirement offers "Writing About Your Life" in two sessions led by Peggy Barnett. The first class is scheduled for Monday, April 2, at 2 p.m., in the Parish House of the Church of the Mediator. The final sessions will be Monday, April 9. "Memories from life experiences will be selected for a written record," Mrs. Barnett says. "The basic idea is to dredge up important amusing or compelling episodes from life and get them down on paper." For enjoyment and critique, time will be allowed for reviewing memories with the class. In addition, examples from professional and amateur writers will be used for guidelines and style. Bolton Lunceford is scheduled to provide resources from her extensive writing experience. Mrs. Barnett is a native Virginian with degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Delaware. She has 25 years teaching experience in three high schools, having retired from Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School.
Mrs. Lunceford has taught English, drama, several foreign languages and at one time edited an English language newspaper in Saudi Arabia.
