We have really been enjoying the pretty weather that God has given us. Springtime is here and it is such a pretty season with flowers blooming and the grass and trees are pretty and green. Birds are singing their pretty tunes and I have been enjoying sitting on my porch. ..Robert (Pee Wee) Armour was guest speaker at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday giving an interesting message about the history and the meaning of the Bible and the importance of believing the word of the Bible. Pam Hall led the singing with Rebekah Echols as pianist. Denise Armour was in charge of the nursery and Tina Boatwright held children's church in the annex. Prayer meeting will be held at the Echols Home Wednesday evening at 6:30. ..An Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. All children of the community are invited to attend. Bring a bag of individually wrapped eggs or plastic filled eggs. ..Larry Maxwell's birthday is on April 2 and J.W. Boatwright and Pam Hall will have one on April 3. .. George and Ann Wideman celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary Monday, March 26. Spending Saturday and Sunday with them were William Hester of Covington and James, David, and Mathew Wideman. David's friend, Patricia, also visited during the weekend. Gene Winfrey visited during the week. ..Peggy Echols enjoyed a wonderful turkey and dressing dinner with all the trimmings Sunday of last week with her sister, Sybil Hayes in Stephens. Others joining them were Brenda and Mason Wall, Jeanette and Dennis Hemphill, Clay and Vicky Stevens, Kayla and Zack, Tim and Allison Hayes and Harley Grace. ..Prayers continue for Bernice McAvoy, Pete Hardy, Pete Poss, Rev. Albert Huyck, Mike Woodall (Tommy Harwell's brother-in-law), Joyce Bowen, Roberta Roper, Gary Rogers, Mike Webb, Bill Remsen, Chris McAvoy, Kathryn Padgett, Stephanie Chapman, Debra Cato, Carla Thaxton Brown, Betsy Wynne, Pat Wynne, Ralph Smith, Richard Burkett, Ellie Frey, Bonnie Huff Coile, Bonnie Creel, Marshall Sherrer, Mablean Sherrer, Brent Sherrer, Tom Bufford, Katie Canup Glowka, Annie Blanche Vaughn, Fred Scoggins, Tommy Wheatley, Thomas Wheatley, Thomas Bunch, Leonard Fain, Carole Morgan, Doug Mathews, and Mario's baby (Christina.) ..Our prayers are with Doug Mathews of the Enterprise community of Oglethorpe County who has been in St. Mary's Hospital in Athens. He is in the thoughts of friends in Wilkes County. ..Bonnie Boatwright joined James and Kathleen Canup Tuesday afternoon to go over to Elberton to play bingo at Wendy's. ..Keaton Wilson and Lindley Hall went fishing Saturday over in Tignall and Lindley brought home eight fish and Keaton brought home 15. They had themselves a nice little fish fry. ..Avery Hall was in Washington with Wes Tanner Saturday and they attended a birthday party together. ..Hannah Wright and Ava, and Gail Stewart visited Johnny and Kathryn Shedd Sunday afternoon. ..Peggy Echols visited Melvie Esco at Quiet Oaks in Crawford Sunday afternoon. ..Buck and Linda Echols had all of their children over to have Sunday dinner with them. ..Chris Armour, whose birthday was March 14, was treated to a dinner Sunday at the home of Bobby and Debra Armour. Helping Chris celebrate besides his parents were his wife Heather, and children, Rebecca and Raeleigh, Frances Fendley, Joann Perez, Greg and Jennifer Glenn, Daniela, Dominique, Trinity, Ishima, and little Greg. ..Wilda Boatwright and Sudie Kennedy went to Thomson to visit Wilda's sister, Hazel Webb in Mount Pleasant Assisted Living Home. ..Kim and Neil Frankel, Zachery and Kyle, had Sunday brunch with Clyde and Sandy Whittington. ..Zachery Frankel spent Thursday night with Clyde and Sandy Whittington and Friday Zachery went fishing with his grandpa. He was mighty proud of his catch. ..Whitney Sherrer and her friend, Reese, visited Billy and Doris Walker Sunday afternoon. ..Cliff and Janet Lewis, Ashton and Heyden spent Saturday afternoon with Billy and Doris Walker. Heyden stayed on and spent the night with grandma and grandpa. .. Our prayers are with Richard Burkett who is having trouble with his knee, shoulder and hands. ..Faye Johnson spent from Wednesday through Friday with Ruby Arnold. Nell Hubbard carried Faye to the doctor in Athens where she got a good report. ..Dorothy Callaway spent Friday through Sunday in Wills Memorial Hospital but is home and feeling much better. ..Barry and Dana Echols spent the weekend at the homeplace. J.W. Boatwright visited with them while they were here. ..Bonnie Boatwright spent the day Thursday with her sister, Martha Jones, in Bogart. Frankie Jones of Athens came over and we went to Winder where we were met by James and Sharon Smith of Stephens at the Golden Corral for a wonderful dinner. .. James and Sharon Smith of Stephens came down Saturday and met Bonnie Boatwright for breakfast at Poss Umm' Cafe.
