Joel Ray Myers Graveside services for Joel Ray Myers, 68, of Lincolnton were held Thursday, March 22, 2007, at New Hope Church Cemetery with Bishop Cullen Hicks officiating. He died Monday, March 19, at Heartland Hospice in Augusta. Mr. Myers was the son of the late Jack Myers and the late Mary Reese Myers. He was a retired plumbing and electrical assistant and attended Martin's Crossroad Congregational Holiness Church. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Bailey Myers of Lincolnton; three sons, Joel Myers Jr. and Eddie Myers of Lincolnton, and Clay Myers of Portsmouth, Va.; a daughter, Linda M. Bentley of Lincolnton; two stepchildren, Catherine Freeland of Washington and John Sinn of Aiken, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers included Barney Bentley, Joseph Myers, Jim Reese, Eddie Reville, Charles Shelton, and Clifton Williams.
Rees Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
