Ashley Branan guest of honor at bridal shower

Ashley Branan, bride-elect of Brad Sheffield of Athens, was honored in Jesup with a miscellaneous shower Monday, March 19, in the social hall of the Jesup Church of God.

Hostesses for the occasion were Devin Martin, Georgia Simmons, Sandra Brinkley, Carol Brown, Louise Dixon, Betty Madray, Virginia Driggers, Betty Poppell, Loretta Brown, Anita Ricketson, Debbie Price, Janet Hatten, Cathy Poppell and Marie Duncan, all of Jesup.

For the occasion Miss Branan was lovely in a seafoam green skirt and matching blouse. The hostesses presented her a corsage of white roses and Alstroemeria lilies tied with white satin ribbon.

Ferns and arrangements of roses were placed around the social hall in decorating.

The refreshment table, covered in white linens, held a beautiful cutglass punch bowl as its focal point. Lime punch was served with cake squares, toasted nuts, melon balls, vegetable tray with dip, toffee squares and sausage wraps.

Approximately 55 guests attended from the Jesup area and included many family members of the prospective bridegroom. Special guests were Sharon Sheffield of Screven, mother of the prospective bridegroom, and Susan Branan of Washington, the bride-elect's mother.
