Pet of the week

This mixed-breed male, mediumsized dog is even-tempered, friendly, and likes to be walked. He is a handsome dark red color and is neutered and vaccinated.

Walking your dog is terrific exercise for both of you.

Vaccination against rabies is required for all dogs and cats three months of age and yearly thereafter. Rabies vaccination must be given by a veterinarian. Rabies is a serious disease for animals and people, fatal if not treated.

Lost dogs can be identified by their rabies tags. You can also put your phone number on the collar with a permanent marker.

The Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter has many dogs with collars with no identification. Call or visit the shelter at 358 Brown Drive, 3-5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The phone number is 706-678- CATS.
