Kiwanians welcome new member
Rick Smith, County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Wilkes County (left), was the newest member to be inducted into the Washington Kiwanis Club at the club's regular meeting on Tuesday, April 3. Smith served in the U.S. Army, three years with 82nd Airborne Division and one year with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He is a 1998 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Forest Resources with a double major in Forestry Management and Wildlife Management. His son, Liam, joined him in the ceremony conducted by Kiwanis President Bill Steed (right). Steve Blackmon was Smith's sponsor.
