Happy Easter; happy spring; happy happy everything! Happy April - it's spring. ..This has been a busy week for me and a tiring one. As I get older I find less time to get all the things I want to do done. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyway, I had a nice weekend and got some much needed rest. ..Ebenezer Baptist Church had an exciting weekend also. We had a wedding Saturday and a good Palm Sunday service on Sunday. Dr. Dupree's sermon was "It's Towel Time in the Church," taken from John. We had a good number and some visitors from all over - Australia, Ohio, The Ukraine, Atlanta, Warner Robins, and Appling. The flowers, some from the wedding, were beautiful and added much to the service. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mobley placed the other flowers in the church. A fellowship meal was held after the sermon. We were glad to have Rev. Rob Cohen and daughter visit with us Sunday. He is a former pastor of Ebenezer and lives in Appling. ..Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fair who were married Saturday at Ebenezer. Dr. Dupree and Rev. Huyck officiated. Peyson Moss of Lincolnton was pianist and Renee Hall was soloist. A reception was held in the fellowship hall. It was a beautiful affair. ..Happy birthday to those who are celebrating this week. The ones I know of are Coryer Poss, April 2; Linda Albea, April 7; and Pembroke Pope, April 4. ..I spent a day in Augusta with Carol Dragon and enjoyed lunch with her. ..Lona Chesnut and Roy joined Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley for a few days vacation at Myrtle Beach, S.C. ..Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Harper of North Georgia visited Mr. and Mrs. Billy Glenn and family Sunday. ..Visitors of Mrs. Sara Huff the past week were Russell Goldman of Doraville; Randy Goldman of Lincoln County; Tony Turpin of Demorest; John Frank Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Dunnaway, Lucille Ingram, Linda and Peyton Standard, and Sherry Newsome. .. Mrs. Sara Huff and Russell Goldman enjoyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard and Peyton Sunday. .. Billy Dunnaway, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway, and Bobbi Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway the past week. ..Cassie Goldman and Bryson and Mitch Taylor visited Mr. and Mrs. Zack Fields and new baby, Landon Scott, in Crawford Saturday. Cassie and Bryson visited Deanne Johnson in Hull Sunday. They all attended church in Watkinsville at New Life Apostolic Sunday. ..Skyla Haynes celebrated her second birthday Wednesday, March 29. She shared birthday goodies at her day care, Simpson Corner, and again that evening in Aonia with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips.
..Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips spent several days in Augusta last week. Saturday Mrs. Phillips helped sell tickets for the Tour of Homes. She enjoyed lunch at the Methodist Church and later everyone the tour. ..G.B. and I had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County Sunday. My brother, Garnett Wallace, was also visiting. ..Cassie Goldman and Bryson carried her grandmother, Mrs. Sara Huff, to Augusta to visit her doctor Monday. ..Our prayer concerns include Mrs. Randall Denard, Mrs. Ray Davis, Joyce Sifre, Linda Albea, Mrs. Mary Tucker, Robert Wright, Gary Rogers, Barry Bailey, Billy Bailey, Teresa Echols Bray, David and June Harris, Pete Hardy, Joyce Adams, Ruth Bell, Rev. Burt Newsome also visited for a while. ..Ebenezer Baptist Church will have Easter Sunrise Service at 7:15 a.m. in our cemetery. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. and preaching at 11 a.m. If you do not have a church home come and visit with us. We will be delighted to have you.
