Lucy Anthony Peacock

Funeral services for Lucy Anthony Peacock, 94, of Jacksonville, Fla., were held March 29, 2007, at the Karpeles Museum in Jacksonville. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. She died March 21 at her home in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Peacock was the descendant of many Wilkes Countians, including both of her parents, the late Augustus Pope and Lucy Jordan Hill Anthony. Through the years she visited many times in Wilkes County. She also has quite a few relatives still living in the county. Her family moved to Jacksonville when she was two years old and her father opened one of the first banks in the city.

Survivors include three children, Jeanne Severance, California, Lucy Strange, England, and Norris Peacock, Green Cove Springs; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
