Jillian Wells guest of honor at coffee, miscellaneous shower

Jillian Wells, bride-elect of Adams Andrews, was entertained at a morning coffee and miscellaneous shower on Saturday, March 31, at the home of Lavenia Henderson. Joining Mrs. Henderson in entertaining were Sandra Adams, June Baston, Debbie Bennett, Eva Burdette, Jerry Denard, Elaine Filipiak, Linda Garrett, Joan Geddings, Bobbie Ann Griffin, Rosemary Hopkins, Dawn Pickens, Sherry Phillips and Angie Strother.

For the coffee, the bride-elect wore black Capri pants and a white sheer fitted crinkle blouse over a white camisole. She was presented an orchid corsage.

As guests arrived, they enjoyed mimosas served from a silver punch bowl on the deck decorated with ferns and a sago palm. The deck entrance into the Henderson home was sided with large pink hydrangeas.

A delicious brunch of mixed fruit, breakfast casseroles, cheese grits, banana bread and rum cake squares was served from silver appointments on the dining table covered with a lace cloth and centered with a tall vase of colorful spring flowers in the bride-elect's colors of lavender, purple and lime green accented with greenery.

The hostesses presented Miss Wells a beautiful hand-cut crystal pedestal bowl.

Miss Wells chose a crystal votive holder and candle as her gift to each hostess.

Forty guests celebrated the occasion with Miss Wells and her hostesses. Special guests were the brideelect's mother, Vonice Wells; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Cherry Andrews, and his young nephew, Ashton Andrews. Out-oftown guests included Ann Crook and Elizabeth Cunningham of Lincolnton.
