Birthday tea held to celebrate Louise Williams' 82nd birthday

Louise Williams was honored on her 82nd birthday at a tea on Saturday afternoon, March 24, given by Jo Randall at the Randall home on East Robert Toombs Avenue. Her birthday was March 16.

In honor of the occasion Mrs. Williams was presented a cymbidium orchid to complement her lavender two-piece dress.

Mrs. Williams greeted her guests in the parlor where a lovely arrangement of calla lilies, a gift from neighbor Gail Hunter, graced a table. Other spring flowers were used throughout the house.

The tea table in the dining room was covered with a crochet cloth over pink. A mirror centered the table and reflected an heirloom silver cruet holder of Alstroemeria lilies flanked by silver candlesticks with pink tapers. Pink napkins completed the color scheme.

Party foods were enjoyed from the table and punch was served in the breakfast room nearby.

Eighty guests were invited and many attended from Lincolnton, Thomson, Augusta and Rome as well as from Washington. A special guest was Mrs. Williams' daughter, Candace Williams of Augusta.
