Ashley Branan honored at 'Girls' Weekend' and shower Ashley Branan, who will be married to Brad Sheffield on April 14, was honored with a "Girls' Weekend" and lingerie shower in Atlanta March 24-25. Hostesses were Mrs. Douglas Branan of Douglasville; Mrs. Dan Branan of Kennesaw; and Mrs. Bobby Williamson of Martinez. The weekend began at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Branan as a delightful afternoon and evening was planned for Miss Branan and her bridesmaids. Miss Branan was presented a corsage of pink tulips, a decorative Tshirt and a bridal veil by the hostesses. The Branan home in Douglasville was beautifully decorated with arrangements of pink tulips and pearls garlands. Snapshots of the brideelect were used on tables in the living room. As guests arrived they were invited into the dining area to enjoy a chocolate fountain, fruit, mango punch and tea sandwiches. After opening gifts in the living room and participating in some ex- citing games, the ladies were served a delicious dinner of ham and vegetable quiche, vegetable salad, fruit and rolls. The dining tables were covered with crocheted lace cloths that had belonged to the brideelect's paternal grandmother, Mrs. W. D. Branan, of Washington. After dinner, guests and hostesses were off on a shopping excursion and the evening ended at la Madeline's Dessert Bar for dessert and coffee. Miss Branan and her bridesmaids spent the night at Buckhead to "catch up" and then wished each other well until the wedding weekend in Athens. The hostesses presented each guest a bath set of candles and bath confetti and Miss Branan presented her hostesses a "summer fun" purse filled with beach accessories.
Joining the hostesses and the bride-elect for the occasion were her mother, Mrs. W. C. Branan of Washington; Katie Huff of Elberton; Katie Walker of Macon; Megan Palmer of Thomasville; Molly McDougall of Athens; and Jessica Cadwell of Perry.
