Alexis Gioia treated to an 'Enchanting Neverland' party

Alexis Gioia, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Gioia of Vidalia, was five years on March 6 and was honored on several occasions.

Alexis first celebrated on her birthday with family cupcakes and juice with her Pre-Kindergarten class at the First Baptist Church of Vidalia.

That evening, her family honored her with a dinner at her home. Alexis chose a menu of shrimp and lobster and after dinner, Mrs. David Hodges, Abigail, John David, Daniel and Andrew, joined the family for fairy cake.

Alexis was honored again on March 10 with an "Enchanting Neverland" party at her home. The girls came dressed in their "fairy" best and were given sequined crowns, flower halos and magic wands. The boys were given eye patches, skull bandanas and swords to dress as pirates.

The children then entered the magical forest to play a game of "pin the wings on the fairy." The children were given treasure boxes, decorated by Alexis with magic stones, and were given the chance to dig for treasure which had earlier been dropped by the tooth fairy. Afterwards a Clydesdale horse appeared with a white carriage to take the children on an enchanting ride through the neighborhood. Upon their return, they were served enchanted dream cake, ice cream, Rice Krispy wands, magic fairy jelly beans, and pixie pink lemonade.

Pixie dust was given to each child before leaving.

Joining Alexis and her parents on her special day were her brother, Jarrett Truitt, and friend, Brandy Williams; David Hodges, John David and Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Cox, Savannah and Connor, Mrs. Rob Huber and Reagan, Mrs. Hugh Peterson and Sara Jane, Ashtin Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Smith and Briana, Tom and Margaret Meadows, Carter Lee, and Mrs. Chris Banks, Elizabeth, John and Matthew, Mrs. Terry Thompson and Jacob, all of Vidalia. Special guests for the weekend and the party were Alexis's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wolter of Washington.
