Victory Baptist Church sets a special month of Sundays

LARRY & SHEILA AIKENS
Victory Baptist Church on the Newtown Road in Wilkes County is having a special month of super Sundays during April.

Each Sunday will feature a special speaker for the services which are held at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be special music presented during the week and a special message for those attending the services. A nursery will be provided for small children.

The special Super Sundays are being held all five Sundays in April and an invitation is extended by the congregation and the pastor, Jimmy Chapman, to everyone interested to attend any or all of the services.

The speaker for April 8 will be Missionary-Evangelist Larry G. Aikens from Newport, Tennessee, where he and his wife are members of the Calvary Baptist Church.

He was ordained to preach by the Forrest Hills Baptist Church in 1977 and also that year was appointed vice-president of the executive board of La Espada. He has served in bi-lingual mission work in Texas and pastored churches in Texas. He was promoted to stateside representative for La Espada in 1980. He has preached in Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and all over the United States; and has also been instrumental in church planting and evangelism in hundreds of churches.

He received the Doctor of Religious Education degree from Grace Baptist College and Seminary in 1988.
