Annual Wilsbary May Fest plant, book sale set for Friday, May 4 at Mary Willis Library

The 2006 Wilsbary May Fest at the library saw plenty of activity and provided the means for the acquisition of many needed books and materials.
The annual Wilsbary May Fest will be held Friday, May 4, on the lawn of the Mary Willis Library, at the corner of Liberty and South Jefferson streets.

The annual Friends of the Library's book, plant and bake sale will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m.

Friends are busy collecting and sorting books; potting plants; and planning the baked goods to prepare for the annual money-making project. Donations are needed and most welcome from members and the public.

Books can be dropped off at the library anytime before Thursday, May 3. Baked goods and plants should be brought to the library before 9:30 a.m. on the morning of May 4. In addition to donations the public is urged to support the Fest by attending and purchasing.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase new books and materials, assist with the Vacation Reading Program for children, and to support speakers, exhibits and cultural activities at the library.
