Gresham-Saggus WOM group meets at First Baptist April 5

The Rhetta Gresham-Terry Bennett Saggus Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church met in the Jesse Mercer Chapel Thursday afternoon, April 5.

Gladys Reese, facilitator, presided and opened in prayer. She also led the members in repeating the WMU Watchword.

During the business meeting, Mabel Johnson, secretary, and June Chafin, treasurer, gave their reports.

Helen Miller, assisted by Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Chafin, presented the program, "Encouraging One Another in Joy or in Sadness." She told of missionaries, Laurel and David Fort, who are located in Burkina Faso. Their location was of special significance as Wilkes Countian Clarence Lance and his wife, Lynne, served for many years in Burkino Faso.

Mrs. Reese continued with the missionary prayer calendar calling attention to Amaury Sanders, former missionary to the Dominican Republic who now serves in Florida. Mrs. Reese closed with a prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs in the community.
