Force of Nature
With so many hurricanes, tornadoes, rain, bad weather, and in some places so dry that thousands of acres have burned, it's a real problem. There have been homes burned to the ground, mighty winds destroying everything in their path, lives lost, lives destroyed. We witness the awesome force of nature at work. Some curse God and yet some stand and say, "Lord, how great thou art!" We sing, "I am weak, Lord, but thou art strong," while others say, "How can you call God a merciful God?" One weather man said, "I think that Mother Nature is talking to us. "Well, I know the Lord is - in a modern day when we think that we are doing so many things right. I've got news for you. We are doing so many things wrong. I just know that something has got to give. We are doing a number on this environment, on ourselves, and we have become a less powerful, yet still a very destructive force. Mankind has a force, a will and a nature that without moral constraint can be a deadly force. When all inhibitions are thrown to the wind; when unharnessed, unrestrained illicit lascivious behavior becomes the norm of the day, then so much bad can come from that. Immorality can cause all types of destructive forces that will destroy everyone in its path - diseases, broken homes, crime, mental illness and depravity. Only God knows the true extent. We need to use the power God has given us in a constructive way and seek Him for added spiritual power to stand when all hell breaks loose. When we seem as if we are going down under the pressures of life; when we feel as if we are going to drown in our sorrow, then look up and remember that God holds tomorrow. Turn negative force into positive force . And how do we do that, you may ask? As the old hymn says, "Take it to the Lord in prayer." Many are the heartaches that will come to you, but just keep your trust in Jesus. He will see you through.
Never will you find a friend so kind and true. Just take it to the Lord in prayer. Yes, there is power in prayer - power to spare. Can you say amen?
