Frances Wheelis WOM members meet on April 2

Judy Bland presented the program at the Frances Wheelis Women on Mission meeting Monday evening, April 2, in the Conference Room of the First Baptist Church.

Nancy Madden, facilitator, presided and turned the meeting over to Mrs. Bland who gave a most interesting account of her recent trip to Mexico with other members of the Georgia Baptist Association.

Mrs. Bland used slides and commentary to give members an idea of the needs and prayer concerns of the area.

After the program Mrs. Madden continued the meeting and members read the WMU Watchword. During reports and plans members voted to make gifts to Kevin Madden and The Potter's House in West Bank, British Columbia, Canada, an ongoing project, to The Children's Home and to Relay for Life. Members were also reminded to bring an extra offering to the next meeting for the Acteens who plan to attend the National Convention this summer.

Teresa Bishop led the missionary prayer calendar focusing on Proverbs 21:3 and mission work in West Africa. She closed with prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs in the community.

Following the meeting members adjourned to the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall for refreshments.

Members present were Louise McClearen, Melanie Wells, Judy Bland, Julia Palmer, Rosemary Hopkins, Kay Nelms, Elizabeth Pope, Teresa Bishop, Gail Hunter and Nancy Madden.
