The Ten Commandments
By GARY TOOLE
The Ten Commandments given to Moses are God's law. They are not suggestions, but rather commandments.

How much better would our society be if everyone lived by these commandments! How much less crime, murder, and social ills we would have if all lived faithfully by the Big Ten. But rather than putting the Big Ten in the forefront we are letting the big nine (Supreme Court Justices) put God out of sight under the pretense of constitutionality.

In visiting the jail and detention center, I thought, "You know, the devil's business is big business down here." They are building more and more prisons, detention centers, and jails, and making them bigger. Then they denounce the very answer to our social problems - the Word of God - and squawk about separation of church and state.

You can still have that separation, yet teach and promote the principles of God's Word. Our forefathers specifically meant that the separation was to protect their freedom of worship and our freedom of worship.

Now, from a logical standpoint, our government, our judicial system and all our politicians should be promoting the Ten Commandments, posting the Ten Commandments, and proclaiming them rather than throwing them out the door.

They may throw them out of the buildings and take "In God we trust" off the coins, which is next, but they can't take God's Word from out of our hearts. Psalm 119:11 says, "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Amen!
