There will be no fifth Sunday meal at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church. We had lunch on Easter instead. The next fifth Sunday will be in July. ..The Lance family gathered at Ryan's in east Athens Saturday to celebrate April birthdays. Chris, Guy and John were honored. Those who attended were Boyce Lance of Cartersville; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Lance and Clint of Griffin; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lance of Lexington; Rev. and Mrs. John Lance of Crawfordville; Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Lance, Julia and Nathanial of Maxeys; Mr. and Mrs. Brian Lance of Crawford; Jennifer Atkinson and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance of Washington. ..Willard Lance and Edward Pope, members of the First Baptist Church of Washington, were among the men of the Georgia Baptist Association cleanup and recovery crew who went to Eastman where three tornadoes hit last weekend. They worked 2 1/2 days there. ..Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Lance have been living in Fort Oglethorpe since last year when they returned to the States after years of mission work in Burkina Faso, West Africa. They now have purchased a home in Ringgold, Georgia. ..After spending a week with Mrs. Iris Dyson, Dr. Frances Cooper and Dr. Rosemary Lindsey left Saturday morning to return to their homes in California and Texas. ..Those visiting Mrs. Iris Dyson and her guests during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hopkins, Mrs. Justin Turner and Harrison of Elberton; and Mr. and Mrs. Lance Hopkins. ..Mrs. Bill Scoggins and Hannah of Augusta spent Saturday night with Mrs. Evans Davis. Mr. Scoggins and Stephanie came Sunday. Also joining them for lunch were Mr. and Mrs. Coryer Poss. ..Mr. and Mrs. Scott Blaine of Dahlonega visited Mrs. Evans Davis Saturday. ..Mrs. Evans Davis visited Mrs. Dot Smith in Thomson last Monday.
