Aonia News Last week's news The weather is the talk of the town. Have you ever? It was plum cold Sunday and the wind was so fierce I thought it was going to blow me to heaven, and tomorrow is supposed to be windy again. ..We had a good day at church. Dr. Dupree was able to be with us but has been a bit under the weather. We send special get-well wishes to him. His sermon was "The week that changed the World" from I Corinthians and Isaiah. The introduction was "Easter week changed the world, The Cross: you cannot wipe God out; The Resurrection, you cannot seal God in; and the Holy Spirit, you cannot write God off." The flowers, a spring arrangement, were placed by Lillie Crawford. Don't forget that Vacation Bible School clinics are this week. Go if you can. ..Kenneth Shank of Atlanta spent Friday with Mrs. Hal Shank. ..Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Dunnaway and Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Holt and family of Martinez spent March 27-April 1 at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. .. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Holt and girls of Martinez; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Holt and boys, and Tara Epps, all of Lincoln- ton; and Mr. and Mrs. Wade Dunnaway. ..Peyton Standard of Augusta visited Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard several days last week. ..Mrs. Sara Huff's visitors have been Mrs. Helen Miller of Washington; Russell Goldman of Doraville (spent the weekend); Linda Standard, Peyton Standard, and Sherry Newsome. Terrell and Bidge Moore of Raytown also visited. ..Mrs. Lucille Ingram, Trudy Ingram, Lona Chesnut, and Roy spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll and family. .. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips, Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla visited Mr. and Mrs. Steve Currie and Evan in Greensboro, N.C., from Wednesday through Sunday. While there the Easter bunny visited the children. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips made several trips to Augusta last week. They visited Mrs. Phyllis Wright who has not been well. ..Mrs. Lynn Gay spent Tuesday in Thomson. ..Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway, Bobbi Thornton, Sara Huff, and Sherry Newsome dropped by to see Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway last week. ..Tabitha Phillips returned home after being hospitalized last week for several days. ..Happy birthday to all who are celebrating a birthday this week. The ones who come to mind are Barbara LeRoy and Lee Wallace. ..Congratulations to Mrs. Lois South who celebrated one last week. ..Friends of Ricky Newsome, son of Mrs. Jenelle Newsome, will be interested to know that he underwent open heart surgery last week. The weather was beautiful Sunday - and also Saturday. It was so nice and warm. We enjoyed sitting out in the yard at my parents' home Sunday afternoon. ..Ebenezer Baptist Church had a nice day Sunday. Dr. Dupree's message was titled "Move Beyond" from Luke. It was a real good sermon. The flowers were placed by Lillie Davis in memory of Benjamin Shelton. They were really beautiful. ..G.B. and I had dinner with my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace. My sister Nan and her husband Mickey also visited. ..My friend, Sara Huff, is not feeling very well these past few weeks. Her recent visitors have been Eddie Howard, Wade Dunnaway, Randy Goldman, Connie and Misty Johnson from Lincoln County; Russell Goldman from Doraville; Linda and Peyton Standard; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Standard of Rayle; and Jessica Fields of Lexington. ..Burt Newsome and his friend, Andy Shelton, of Warrenton spent the weekend at Fripp Island, enjoying some fishing. ..Sincere sympathy to all who have lost loved ones recently. ..Our prayer concerns include Ricky Newsome, Jenelle Newsome, Sara Huff, Linda Albea, Dr. Leonard Dupree, Henry Wallace, Willie Ruth Freeman, Gary Rogers, Barry Bailey, Wylie Dallas, Betty Barden, JoAnn Barden, Sanders and Elizabeth Dallis, Dean Allyson, Jonathan Chapman (Iraq), Margaret Gunter, Sandra Matthews, Rev.
