Bridal brunch, shower honors Vanessa Wilson on Sat., Apr. 7 A bridal brunch and shower honored Vanessa Wilson, bride-elect of Clay Patrick of Guyton, on Saturday, April 7, in the fellowship hall of Mallorysville Baptist Church in Tignall. Hostesses for the occasion were Marion Hammond, Debbie Jackson, Angie Thornton and Vivie Ann Wilson. For the occasion Miss Wilson chose a light green crocheted sweater and grey slacks. She was presented a corsage of mauve and yellow Alstroemeria lilies. The guest register table, covered in white, held a budvase of snapdragons, Alstroemeria lilies, lisianthus, statice and kangaroo paw in shades of mauve and yellow in addition to the bride's book and silver pen. Guests were seated at tables overlaid in white and scattered with pink rose petals, also, pink and white heart and silver "love" iridescents. Each table also featured a church and bride and bridegroom cake top- per. Another area displayed a larger bouquet of snapdragons, Alstroemeria lilies, lisianthus, statice and kangaroo paw matching the one on the register table. Seated guests were served chicken salad croissants, cheese straws, fresh fruits sandies, and iced tea with lemon. The hostesses presented the brideelect a ceramic rooster displayed with other gifts at a table decorated with a church and wedding cake topper.
Twenty-five guests attended. Special guests included the bride-elect's mother, Candy Hopkins of Washington; her "Mama II," Becky Wilson, and grandmother, Rebecca Echols, both of Tignall; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Evelyn Patrick of Swainsboro; and his aunts, Betty Jean Andrews and Glenda Riner of Swainsboro and Joanne Lane of Twin City.
