Tanner Guinn honored at lingerie shower April 22

May bride-elect Tanner Guinn was guest of honor at a lingerie shower and tea Sunday, April 22, at The Rider House on Court Street. Hostesses for the afternoon affair were Jane Newsome, Mary Newsome, Alicia DeWeese, Teresa Eason, India Harris, Cindy Russell, and Susan Pope.

Miss Tanner chose black slacks and a black and white polka dotted fitted blouse designed with a front and back halter and neck tie. She was presented a cymbidium orchid corsage.

Ferns decorated the front porch and flanked the entrance. Inside, arrangements of garden azaleas were used throughout. The hall table featured a small budvase of delicate lilies of the valley.

A white Army-Navy cloth covered the dining table centered with a beautiful arrangement of George Tabor azaleas. Another matching arrangement centered the sideboard.

From the table guests enjoyed decorated cake squares, cheese straws, toasted pecans, skewers of fresh fruit, cheese ball and crackers and punch.

Guests gathered in the front parlor where the bride-elect opened her gifts later displayed on a table overlaid with a white Army-Navy cloth and centered with fresh azaleas.

The hostesses presented Miss Guinn a blush and ivory pegnoir' set.

Miss Guinn presented the hostesses wonderful Tyler perfumed candles.

Eighteen guests were invited. Joining Miss Guinn and the hostesses were her mother, Teresa Tanner; her sister, Lauren Guinn; grandmothers, Robbie Tanner and Linda Guinn; aunt and cousin, Debra Tanner and Emily; prospective bridegroom's mother, Birder Mae Bridges; and sister, Tammy Gunter; also Rebecca DeWeese of Athens; Amy Thomas of Eatonton, and Sherri McAvoy.
