FBC Adult Bible Searchers gather for 'Spring Wing Fling' The Adult Bible Searchers of the First Baptist Church gathered Thursday evening, April 19, at the country cabin of Gary and Dean Mansfield for its "Spring Wing Fling on Quaker Springs" fellowship. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful country setting as they met the Mansfields for an evening of fun and fellowship. The yard and welcoming back porch featured colorful geraniums and other bedding plants. The pavilion was festive as tables were covered with blue checked cloths and decorated with potted dahlias. Bowls of Hershey's Kisses and York Peppermint Patties were an added touch. Everyone brought a favorite salad or dessert to complement a bounty of wings and onion rings cooked by the hosts. After Mrs. Mansfield welcomed members and guests, Jeff Franklin offered the blessing. While in the circle, members joined in singing "Happy Birthday" to Jim Caddell whose birthday cake was enjoyed later with other desserts. Following dinner, Teresa Bishop recognized others with monthly birthdays with party hats and bags and a game of "Mad Gab" led by Mrs. Manfield was enjoyed with the ladies of the class emerging as winners.
Present with the Mansfields for the evening were Brian Baldwin, Bill and Teresa Bishop, Jim and Shelby Caddell, Jeff and Lisa Franklin, Jackie Gillespie, David and Gail Hunter, Gene and Lynne Land, Kerry and Nancy McAvoy, Ray and Priscilla Moore, Richard and Kay Nelms, Susan Pope, Ira and Ann Tiller, Wayne and Sharon Williamson, and Chris and Tara Townsend.
